Construction and Early Use: The three-story, 10,800-square-foot building was constructed in 1910 and included a 16-car garage on the first floor. It served as a popular hangout for Katy Railroad men for many years. Notable Mentions: The single-story cafe on the west side of the building, where Dan Rather once spoke to the Lions Club in 1967, was used as "Honey's Diner" in the movie Hope Floats.
